As part of our social media program for our client, the rock band August, Crest Communications senior art director Darren Kurt interviewed Gary Mackey, the band’s leader. The interview was posted on YouTube and became an effective way for people to become acquainted with August and their brand of hot rhythm ‘n’ soul that reflects the unique sound of the city of Chicago. One Video Worth a Thousand Words

She comes in a lot more like a lamb than a lion. We’re talking about Nyx; a well trained, highly effective Bed Bug Dog. Nyx is a small terrier who discreetly whiffs, without missing, any bedbugs that might have infiltrated residential or commercial spaces. Bed Bugs are serious pests that cause serious damage; and serious pain and discomfort if you find them without the benefit of Nyx casing your place first. If bed bugs are there; in the furniture, behind wall sockets, deep in textiles or hiding in closets, Nyx finds them. If she does, AGAD Pest Control will eradicate (“kill”) them. Nyx works fast and so does AGAD. Even one night with bed bugs is one too many. Nyx was willing to perform on camera and Crest captured her at work. While the camera wasn’t hidden, the bed bugs were. We caught Nyx on camera while she caught the bedbugs behind a wall.  AGAD destroyed the evidence.

Crest Communications Event Division Catches Clients Clowning Around

The Museum of Broadcast Communications recently celebrated the preliminary opening of their new facility in Chicago with clown music. We at Crest Communications, an integrated marketing and social media company in the western suburbs, were there to cover how two of our clients contributed to the event. The museum wanted to replicate the music of the late 1950’s Bozo the Clown Show that originated on WGN-TV Chicago. To do that, the original organ used on the set was donated to the museum. However, the instrument needed repair. So the Chicago Area Theatre Organ Enthusiasts, a Crest Communications client, arranged for technicians from Hammond Organ and Allen Organ to bring it up to par. (CATOE’s mission includes preserving the famous organs of Chicagoland.)

The organ was played by Lee Maloney, V.P. of Steinway Chicago, another Crest client. Maloney was one of the organists for the original touring Bozo show.

The 62,000 square foot museum is now located at 360 N. State Street, the site of a former parking garage. The museum is expected to be open to the public this fall. And Crest Communications, as it was during this “Sneak Peak” event, will be there.
